DLC coatings from C4E

DLC

The DLC coatings from C4E can be used for external and internal coating of components including tubular substrates.  The DLC coatings are deposited using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) which creates a uniform and conformal coating that requires no secondary processing.  The coatings are hard (1,000-2,500 HV) and almost frictionless.  Deposition rates as high as 3 µm/minute make this a cost effective solution compared to conventional DLC and an ideal replacement for hard Cr.

C4E coatings offer significant benefits over conventional DLC coatings

  • Chemically inert
  • Extremely hard
  • Excellent wear resistance
  • Low friction
  • High growth rate

and eliminating drawbacks of legacy technology while adding significant benefits

  • Higher thickness
  • Low stress
  • Excellent adhesion
  • High uniformity along the coated surface
  • Thickness uniformity
  • Chemical composition uniformity
  • Tunable film characteristics
